''Schitt's Creek'' is a Canadian television sitcom which premiered on CBC Television on January 13, 2015. The series airs in the United States on Pop (previously the TV Guide Network). The name of the show derives from the idiom "up Shit Creek (a paddle )", implying an extraordinarily difficult or nearly impossible situation, as if stuck in a boat on a proverbial stream full of feces, unable to move one's self out of a terrible circumstance.
